This bear's death is a result of everyone involved in this story. A caged wild animal will and SHOULD fight to keep his wildness until the day he dies, and that is what We don't want. We want a pet, a robot, a puppet. This story sickens me, and saying that does make me feel like I'm disrespecting the victim a little. But, as long as that bear was in that cage, the family and the public viewed it as a tamed animal. When it was being fed, we were in total control and the bear was "COMPLETELY CONTENT". BUT THEN, when that bear kills one of us, the opinion on him turns and he is a vicious fucking creature again, a savage beast, UNPREDICTABLE!
The Bear Is Dead. His life was caged; his food wasn't chased down and killed by him, it was given to him; his caretakers? how do we know he viewed them as such? The bear is dead because we as the grossest beings on this planet made him into something he wasn't as soon as we locked his cage door for the first time with him inside it; that's why he's dead. Why is it a shock to us that a wild animal will act accordingly and not act how we want it to? Because we're slavemasters, still. We're pillagers, savages, thieves of men.
In my belief, we are one million times as ruthless as that bear; a billion times as deadly and a trillion times the threat. No one bothers to tell or imagine the bear's story because animals lack souls to all of us. How do people feel about this? Come on..speak up

Quote of the day
"All goes onward and outward....and nothing collapses,
And to die is different from what any one supposed, and luckier."

Serenity
Why do we search for serenity in the same things that bring us stress? Not having a lot of money leads to suffering, anguish, agony... so, how can an abundance of it bring us happiness? We don't stop to observe our situations in an aim to find something that will better them.
So, looking becomes second nature to us.
To the most joyous that I've come across,
finding the answer requires only a second in Nature.
So, looking becomes second nature to us.
To the most joyous that I've come across,
finding the answer requires only a second in Nature.

(original)
With merciless foot, he joins in the massacre
Of a forest full of frowning trees
Whose limbs help him forward
And whose gift helps him breathe.
Heart-shaped leaves find their way to his chest
From the watery eyes of white birches
Who astound at his doubt
That their sound escapes the thicket
When the tall fathers hold
A funeral for fallen friends
And the cries surely spoil the sleep
Of plaid-ridden loggers.
But, the music of Spring yells nearly as loud
And a 'munk on a mission moves
The blood of this traveler.
Though, to wish to be opened
While wielding a slashing sword
Will open you much wider than meant to be.

What kind of person are you?
An "I told you so", or a changer of the way things are?
Just because it's the way it is doesn't mean it's the way it could be.
Or should be.
If it happens will you be proud that you knew it would, or disappointed that you didn't do your part to stop it?
"The sun shines not on us but in us." - John Muir
If it shined on your face the reflection would have a question,
but since it illuminates You the world is that much more full of truth.
"When it is dark enough, you can see the stars." - Ralph Waldo Emerson

REexamine!
Ask yourself:
Do I need to turn on the light, or can I do what I need to without one?
Why am I throwing away this plastic fork, knife, spoon or napkin? Why can't I reuse it? Is it really THAT dirty?
Why can't I recycle (newspapers, magazines, junkmail, cardboard, tin, plastic, etc.)? Get an old bin and box and set up a recycling station in your garage!
Why do I take such a long shower when I could really be clean after 4 or 5 minutes?
Can I walk or bike to where I need to go, or take public transportation? (weather permitting)
Is it really that difficult to hold on to an empty soda bottle or wrapper until I reach a garbage can?
If my hands are wet, do I really need to use a paper towel or can I air dry them or use a washable cloth towel?
Insects are important too! Is it necessary to kill a bug just because we're bigger than it?
Does the water need to be running while I brush my teeth?
shut off and/or unplug your appliances, computers, etc. when you aren't using them, or put them on an energy saving mode. small things. everyday things. if you feel like the change is TOO small and won't make a difference, think about if everyone in the world made that same change. the ONLY way it starts is with a single person making a single change, so you ARE the spark. you DO make a significant impact.
don't litter, buy local and organically grown when possible, and let the yellow mellow!

Grizzly Euthanized
["We just can't figure it out," said Ron Aasheim, a spokesman for Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks. "It doesn't make any sense." All the food in the campground was stored properly in bear-proof containers; the attack was unprovoked; the bear had no history of attacking humans, Aasheim said. "It's a head scratcher."]
what's a head scratcher is how anybody can think we have wild animals figured out because we're the "superior species" on the planet. that guy Aasheim knows these animals aren't puppets, but look at him tread carefully as to not scare the hell out of the ignorant public and blow the lid off this thing. bear dead, her cubs put behind bars to ensure this can't happen; it's the same story with us anytime we've been or feel threatened. how can we hope to live in harmony with nature if we keep taking the pieces out that were already there before us? it's terrible that a man was killed. but is it not just as terrible that we STILL feel the only answer is killing (in regard to "inferior" species that is, considering we harbor heinous murderers in our prisons and on our streets)??
["When you have a dangerous predator like that -- that has no fear of humans -- you've really got a dangerous situation and I think wildlife managers understand there's very little wiggle room here on what to do."]
if they pose a threat, wipe them out. we've surely felt this before..have we progressed AT ALL?!!?
[An autopsy will be carried out "to see if there was something haywire," Aasheim said.]
